Mobile Platforms: The Core

Most people would agree that the main part of any mobile device is not the gadget, produced in dozens of colors and with different sets of additional accessories, though a good piece of hardware is also very important. Similarly, additional applications developed by third parties are also important. But the main part of the mobile platform and any gadget in general is a mobile OS installed.

At the same time itӳ hardly possible to say that RIMӳ OS is something extraordinary and worth wonderful reviews. It has gained more or less modern functionalities only after considerable revamping, scheduled for the release of the Blackberry Torch earlier this year. In general, the platform is quite mediocre but nevertheless Blackberry gadgets are quite wide-spread, especially in the USA.

It would seem that being the market leader at the desktop OS market Microsoft should not face any difficulties in reaching the mobile market OS first ranks but absence of a noteworthy gadget has spoiled all the companyӳ plans. ҵrrently it is unclear whether it will be able to obtain at least some significant place at the market segment or is destined to occupy the underdog position.

So, delivering a powerful OS is a very significant point in traveling to the mobile market Olympus but at the same time it is not the most indispensable aspect. At the same time iPhone and Android phones which are now ranking among the best mobile gadgets really possess both a solid and multy-aspect mobile OS and quality mobile hardware. But such examples are really few and their way to the top was long and rich in unexpected difficulties.
